Stephanie is the owner and Executive Director of Genesis Counseling Services and a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working as a counselor and therapist for over 15 years. She is trained, experienced and skilled in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and utilizes eclectic techniques for client-centered treatment services. Stephanie believes in empowering and supporting clients on their journey for change and reaching whatever goals they set, as they have more power and abilities than they often realize.

Amaris Gibson,

Amaris is a relationship, marriage, and family-focused therapist who focuses on promoting the healthy social, emotional, and relational health of both children and adults of all ages. She uses a wide range of treatment modalities, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Christian counseling, Prepare Enrich (Individual and Group), and Attachment Biobehavioral Catchup (ABC). Working with marriage and pre-marriage relationships, she is a a certified Prepare Enrich Facilitator, with knowledge and utilization of other modalities such as Gottman and Emotional Focused Therapy. Endorsed as an Infant Family Specialist, She has experience with supporting the healthy social/emotional development of children prenatally through age 5, as well as an understanding of family dynamics and relationship-building and supports parents and caregivers at an individual & family level while using a strength-based, culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approach.

Rhonda M. Gambrell,

MEd, LPCA

Rhonda is a licensed professional counselor associate with over 30 years of experience working in the field of human services. Her approach to therapy is client-centered and strength based. Rhonda is experienced in cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, stress management techniques, trauma/crisis work and psychoeducation. Her specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma, DSS/DJJ involvement, crisis intervention, ADHD, PTSD, behavioral issues, grief and other life transition difficulties. Rhonda’s collaborative approach offers empathy and support to clients in a judgment free environment while assisting them in working through challenges so they can reach their goals.

Shericka "Ciera" Young,

Ciera is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a variety of mental health experience from various settings. She understands that no one person has the same journey, Life has its own way of presenting challenges, and sometimes help is needed. Ciera focuses on helping individuals and couples navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, identity issues, relational problems, and self-esteem issues. She takes a client-centered, evidence-based psychotherapy approach that incorporates holistic therapy to help navigate and achieve clients’ needs. Ciera’s laid-back style is welcoming and encourages you to face whatever you may be challenged with head on while having the support and gaining the tools you need to navigate it from a different perspective.

Alesia Lowe-Jenkins,

LPCS, NCC, C-DBT, C-EMDR,

Alesia is a licensed professional counselor and supervisor that specializes in treating depression, anxiety, impulsive behaviors, relationship instability, family issues, behavioral/parenting concerns, trauma and life transitions. She is trained and certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. She has worked with various populations and all age groups in various settings, including schools, college campus, community mental health, therapeutic childcare, child advocacy centers, homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters.

Cynthia Wray,

MS, LPC

Cynthia is a licensed professional counselor with 15 years of experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting. She is trained and rostered in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Child Parent Psychotherapy, and provides a variety of psychotherapeutic services including: Therapeutic psychosocial assessment, Individual counseling for children, adolescents, and adults, Family therapy, Counseling involving treatment of trauma, anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder and behavioral disorders, anger management and family and life adjustment problems. She believes that we all have the intuitive knowledge and self-awareness to navigate through personal transitions to bring emotional balance back in our lives and empowers her clients to create healthy change.

Cailey Owen,

B.S.

Cailey Owen is the front desk receptionist at Genesis Counseling Services. She has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University and is currently pursuing a Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. “It is a privilege to work with some amazing professionals and great mentors”, Cailey states. “For fun, I enjoy reading and playing with my fur baby, Bodhi.”
